Define intermediate directions

A

Cardinal directions are the main compass directions. Intermediate directions sometimes referred to as the ordinal directions are the four points located in between the main directions. The cardinal directions are North, N, at the top, specifically at the 12:00 position of a clock. Going to the clockwise direction, 90 degrees is the East, E direction, the next 90 degrees should land you to South, S direction and the next 90 degrees get you to the West, W direction. The intermediate directions will thus be NE, SE, SW and NW.
