Which option is correct – whilst or while?

A

“Whilst” is the British form of the American “while”. Either forms can be used to function as a conjunction describing events occurring at the same time.

E.g.

Do not talk whilst eating (British)

Do not talk while eating (American)

For an uncertain amount of time, “while” is most commonly used.
