Why did the members of the American Liberty League oppose the New Deal?

A

According to conservatives, they opposed the deal because they did not believe it worked for the less privileged, it was too focused on individuals and gave too much economic power to the government. It was believed that the deal was not necessary to fix the country’s financial situation, because there were no visible problems with it. It was believed that the deal disregarded the notion of private business and encouraged socialism. Also, the deal was created for the redistribution of wealth which counteracted the desires of conservationists who believed it to be unfair and insisted on tax reductions for the poor and elderly.
