An open area free of woods and buildings

A

An open area without woods and buildings is termed as a field. This is an open and spacious area devoid of anything other than the underlying ground cover. Basically, fields don’t have huge objects interfering with people’s movement in them. Field is the commonly known term for such an open area although there could be terms like plot, meadow or grassland referring to the same. However, field can be used to refer to all of these.
