How does predation differ from parasitism?

In predation, an organism that is higher on the food chain feeds on an organism from a lower level on the food chain. Parasitism occurs irrespective of their levels on the food chain.

Predation takes place between the predator and the prey, while parasitism involves a parasite and its host.
